Kyla – Way to Your Heart

Melanie Alvarez better known by her stage name Kyla, is a Filipino R&B singer-songwriter, occasional actress and presenter.

Kyla began her career in 2000 under OctoArts EMI Philippines and rose to prominence with the release of her second single “Hanggang Ngayon” (English translation: “Until Now”). The song won the MTV Viewers’ Choice for Southeast Asia at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards making her the first East Asian female artist to win at the MTV Video Music Awards

Way to Your Heart is the debut album by Filipina R&B singer Kyla, released in 2000. The album consists of ten original OPM tracks mostly written by Mr. Rafael Amaranto XXVII. It includes the single Hanggang Ngayon which was nominated at MTV Pilipinas Awards in 2001 for Best Song and music video, Best Direction ( by Lyle Sacris), and Best Video. Kyla also won Best New Artist and Best Female Artist.

The music video also won the MTV Video Music Awards as MTV Southeast Asia 2001 Viewers’ Choice making Kyla the first and the only female artist to win the VMAs making The album also won numerous award at the 16th Awit Awards for the single Hanggang Ngayon for Best Musical Arrangement, Best Performance By A New Female Recording Artist and Music Video Of The Year. Its first single Bring It On also won Best R&B song

Lani Misalucha – All Heart

Lani Bayot Misalucha is a Filipino singer who performs pop, rock, jazz, soul, rhythm and blues, and operatic arias. Her ability to sing across several genres gave her the title “Asia’s Nightingale” by MTV Southeast Asia. She was also nominated for an Aliw Award for playing Sita in the 1999 Filipino musical Rama at Sita – The Musical.

Since arriving in Las Vegas in 2002, Misalucha has been called “New Siren of the Strip.” During her stint in Las Vegas, Misalucha performed with the Society of Seven at Bally’s Las Vegas and the Flamingo Las Vegas, making her the first Asian to headline in a main showroom at the Las Vegas Strip. She also performed alongside Earl Turner at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. In March 2008, she was voted the “Best Singer” (staff pick) in the “27th Annual Best of Las Vegas” poll by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. In 2009, Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman proclaimed December 4 as “Lani Misalucha Day” in the city. Not Your Ordinary Girl is the fourth studio album by Kyla.released by Poly East Records under EMI Philippines in 2004.

The album spawned five singles “Because Of You”, “Human Nature”, “If the Feeling Is Gone”, “Not Your Ordinary Girl”, and “Till They Take My Heart Away” all of which were #1 hit singles. The album also includes the song Buti Na Lang interpreted by Kyla penned by producer Jonathan Manalo and placed third prize at the 2003 Metro Pop Song Festival.
